I’m pleased to take this opportunity to praise the MP3 Player Project, which will provide another avenue of spiritual support for the men and women in the armed forces who are often in isolated places, often places where our Catholic priests cannot reach them. These players will be another way for us to touch their hearts, for them to be able to enter into a spirit of prayer, for them to hear celebrations of the Eucharist, for them to pray with the wider community, which is indeed united to them in the great bond of spiritual fellowship that unites all men and women of the Catholic faith.

A Few Facts

There are more than 300,000 Catholics currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, composing approximately 20 percent of our military forces.

Currently there are 281 Catholic chaplains serving our troops. These dedicated priests compose eight percent of the military chaplains.

Distribution of the players has been arranged with the assistance of the Archbishop for the Military Services and he 281 military chaplain/priests serving his archdiocese.

Each Frontline Faith player is given free of charge to members of the U.S. military.

  • The FRONTLINE FAITH Players are given free of charge to our troops.
  • While this is a Catholic initiative, this is an ecumenical endeavour. The FRONTLINE FAITH Players are given to every Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Guardsman, and Marine who wishes to receive one.
  •  Distribution of the players targets injured troops in military hospitals and wounded transition units and troops currently deployed or preparing for deployment.
  • Distribution of the players has been arranged with the assistance of the Archbishop for the Military Services and the 281 military chaplain/priests serving his archdiocese. Further assistance has been provided by American Airlines.
